Arts & Business Scotland’s Building Capacity: Developing Skills programme is providing fantastic opportunities for Chairs of heritage or mixed arts/heritage organisations to network and learn from experts and peers in a mini-series called ‘The Heritage Chairs Network Exchange’.

The sessions focus on challenges chairs might be facing having come out of lockdown, and the wider context organisations need to respond to. The sessions will bring together chairs to allow participants to expand their peer networks and share experience.

This event is on 30 November 2022, from 4pm to 6pm on Zoom.

We will cover:

With unprecedented pressure on public funding, what are some of the ways organisations can respond to remain financially sustainable?

This session will look at the role of the board and chair in fundraising, and other income generation options available to heritage organisations and mixed heritage/arts organisations.

Strategic consultant Catherine Holden facilitates this session, bringing her own experience as a fundraising leader, chair of Craft Scotland and Trustee for Clore LeadershipArt UK and Fruitmarket in Edinburgh.

We’ll also hear from guest speakers who provide funding to the heritage sector about what they are looking for in applications and what makes a powerful partnership – more information to follow soon.

Arts & Business Scotland will also showcase a new service we are developing to enable the culture and heritage sector to promote their services to public and corporate sector organisations. At this event we will be looking for heritage organisations to join the pilot scheme and be the first to benefit from this new platform.

Networking and presented material

This is an interactive session – you will have the opportunity to share ideas and network with fellow chairs of Heritage and Mixed Arts/Heritage organisations during the workshops. An attendee list will be distributed prior to the event.
