Laura McIntyre

Laura is Communications Officer at NHS Borders, as well as a Non-Executive and Secretary of Eastgate Theatre & Arts Centre located in Peebles. She has a keen interest in the arts, particularly within remote, rural and community contexts. 

This has attracted her to roles such as Community Engagement Coordinator for Alchemy Film & Moving Image Festival (Hawick, Scottish Borders) and Centre Development Manager at the £1.25 million project the Atlantic Islands Centre (Luing, Argyll). Prior to relocating she was Marketing Manager at Glasgay! Festival in her hometown of Glasgow, where she also sat on the Toonspeak Young Persons Theatre board of directors for four years.

Recently Playwright Studio Scotland invited Laura back to the Borders Playwright Programme for a second year. Her creative writing  has been published, performed and exhibited across the UK in anthologies, magazines, arts venues, theatres, museums and festivals. She is also an Associate Editor of Fiction for The Flexible Persona literary magazine.

Laura lives in the Scottish Borders market town of Kelso with her husband Roger and dog Oscar.
